Last night (which started in the early afternoon) has left me scarred both physically and mentally. In short, I feel as though for every pint I drank, I now have a small wrestler jumping around in my head. However, every silver lining contains a botched analogy right? Well something like that, and I’m gonna make sure I learn some stuff today, and the wacky weird web is the place for schooling!
One thing I learned early on today, well before my hangover had subsided, was that hentai can be pretty funny. In fact it made me wonder why I hadn’t heard the line ‘Sometimes male devils have two dicks, so I often use my anus’ cheerfully delivered by a nice girl with blue hair and giant boobs that move by themselves.
For the uninitiated, hentai is Japanese erotic animation, or cartoons about fucking if you prefer. It means something slightly different in Japan, but etimology is complicated ok? It had bobbed around the outskirts of my cultural radar for a while. I’d always assumed it would be as formulaic and dull as most porn but hell, there a few more jokes and stuff. I’m leaching a bit classic tentacle rape stuff at present, which may prove more challenging but I was intrigued to see that tentacle sex has been around for almost 200 years in Japanese art.
Having been to Burnley on numerous occasions, in the name of football, I chuckled at John Cooper-Clarke’s poem ‘I don’t ever want to go to Burnley’. More attentive readers may have noticed his cameo in the recent Ian Curtis biopic that I really didn’t like. The film that is, not the cameo, Johnny Clarke was one of the better bits. The stupid comments on youtube made me laugh too but they would probably depress me if my brain worked properly.
So what could have been a wasted day, became somewhat of a triumph. I thinking I should probably get seriously drunk again tonight in order to mine this creative vein a little more. Then again, maybe I don’t need to be desperately seedy to enjoy reading about Robin Friday.
